This January, 2006, Jim Allen and I took a week end trip to Beaufort, South Carolina and its environs. a lovely place.
Unfortunately, the water front area has been dug up..... seems it was sinking and it is all under construction now. The most interesting area of the trip, however, was the Prince William Church at Sheldon. Built in
1745 and burned by the British in 1779, rebuilt in 1826 and burned again by the Federales in 1865. Now only a shell, it is a magnificent thing to see and photograph. As well, the Chapel of Rest, another burned out
shell is most interesting.
